Max Goodwin has always been considered an excellent specialist in medical matters. The main character could have continued his career as a doctor, but it so happened that the man was appointed chief doctor in one of the largest and oldest hospitals in his native country. "New Amsterdam" occupies a special place of honor in the history of the States. This place is crowded with patients who receive high-quality care, but in recent years everything here is far from so unambiguous and calm. The results of the work of many specialists leave much to be desired. And the managerial side does not seem to be the main strength of the institution. However, now Goodwin sets himself the task of correcting the situation. He believes that he will succeed, but the new wards and colleagues look with doubt at the prospects of the main character. This is not surprising, because the previous managers left the institution in a very deplorable state. The main character has a chance to fix everything.
